Since\u00a0COP28,\u00a0there is renewed commitment and momentum to address the public health impacts of climate change. The intersections of\u00a0gender justice, health equity, and the climate crisis are critical yet often overlooked and under-funded aspects of sustainable development. Climate change poses significant challenges to global health, exacerbating existing vulnerabilities and inequalities, particularly for women and girls and other marginalized communities. Integrating gender and health\u2014especially sexual and reproductive health and rights\u2014into climate adaptation policies is essential for addressing these challenges comprehensively, ensuring health equity and building resilient communities.<\/p>\n
Achieving the global commitments to gender equity and women\u2019s health will require smarter, climate-informed investments. Current investments at the nexus of gender-climate-health tend to be reactive, disjointed, and siloed. Coordinated, evidence-based investment and innovation is urgently needed to ensure that women and girls have continuous, uninterrupted access to the products and services they need in the face of compounding climate impacts and so they do not bear disproportionate health burdens due to climate change.
