DESCRIPTION:Building Transnational Solidarity and Targeted Action for Equity in Health: Bridging the Gap on Maternal Health for Women and Girls of African Descent is a high-level event co-hosted by the Universal Access Project at the United Nations Foundation\, UNFPA\, and PAHO. This event will bring together global leaders and advocates to address the disproportionate maternal health challenges faced by women and girls of African descent. The discussion will focus on building transnational solidarity\, strengthening health care systems\, and mobilizing support for intersectional approaches to improve maternal health outcomes. Key outcomes include the launch of the “Global Coalition for Transnational Solidarity and Action to Bridge the Gap in Maternal Health for Girls and Women of African Descent” and the promotion of PAHO’s Strategy and Plan of Action on Ethnicity and Health.

SUMMARY:Summit of the Future 101: Feminist Explainer on the Pact\, GDC and DFG
DESCRIPTION:This 2-hour event will be for feminist civil society\, following up on a feminist briefing and strategy meeting conducted in Nairobi prior to the UN Civil Society Conference alongside the Women’s Major Group and Akina Mama wa Afrika. The session’s main purpose is to share updated information on the process\, before the SOTF in September\, so feminists can better plan their advocacy and engagement\, especially for those attending SOTF and then following up with their advocacy at the national level. In the session\, feminist advocates who have been closely following the SOTF political process will share info on the Summit itself\, the Pact of the Future\, the Global Digital Compact\, and the Declaration for Future Generations from different points of entry. \nInterpretation will be available in Spanish\, French\, and English.
