Building Transnational Solidarity and Targeted Action for Equity in Health: Bridging the Gap on Maternal Health for Women and Girls of African Descent is a high-level event co-hosted by the Universal Access Project at the United Nations Foundation, UNFPA, and PAHO. This event will bring together global leaders and advocates to address the disproportionate maternal health challenges faced by women and girls of African descent. The discussion will focus on building transnational solidarity, strengthening health care systems, and mobilizing support for intersectional approaches to improve maternal health outcomes. Key outcomes include the launch of the “Global Coalition for Transnational Solidarity and Action to Bridge the Gap in Maternal Health for Girls and Women of African Descent” and the promotion of PAHO’s Strategy and Plan of Action on Ethnicity and Health.
